All Take, Zero Give

Are clients and major contractors surviving purely because they are being propped up by unpaid or underpaid sub and specialist contractors?

How did we get here?   How did we get to a place and time in which clients and major contractors hold the whip-hand to such a degree?   How did we allow ourselves to be treated so unfairly and unjustly; to be forced to jump through countless regulatory and financial hoops; and to be made to pay through the nose in order to satisfy the greedy demands of the industry’s self-appointed masters?

Those clients and Tier 1 contractors insist that we utilise only the very best and the very latest equipment to help THEM meet THEIR environmental commitments.   They also insist that we train OUR staff to levels that satisfy THEIR demands and that they carry competence cards that meet with THEIR approval.   And then, having abided by these often unreasonable demands, THEY then award the contract based purely upon the lowest bid price.

But that is just the beginning.
