I often use the comment to push home the point that PPE is the lowest form of control by asking what is the point of hi viz. Does it really make you more visable or does it just make you look like a construction worker.
There is a flip-side to that. It is widely known in demolition and construction circles that high vis’ clothing gets you aywhere. I have lost count of the number of site equipment thefts that can be traced back to “some guys arrived wearing PPE and drove the machine away. We didn’t really take any notice”.
